Recently, Tim commended the works of E. Michael Jones to our attention. Several of us have been reading them, but I've been complaining about their high prices. So Tim wrote Mr. Jones, and he reports that a number of them are back in print and available from Culture Wars for much better prices than you will find on Amazon. A few samples...
Monsters from the Id: The Rise of Horror in Fiction and Film, at $24.95.
Libido Dominandi: Sexual Liberation and Political Control at $28.00.
Living Machines: Bauhaus Architecture as Sexual Ideology at $24.95.
Dionysos Rising: The Birth of Cultural Revolution out of the Spirit of Music at $24.95.
Degenerate Moderns: Modernity as Rationalized Sexual Misbehavior at $24.95.
They can be ordered for these prices at the web site of E. Michael Jones: <www.culturewars.com>. For a limited time, you can get all five for $140 plus shipping and handling.
I will commend to you the second book that takes its title from a quote from The City of God, by St. Augustine: "Thus, a good man, though a slave, is free; but a wicked man, though a king, is a slave. For he serves, not one man alone, but, what is worse, as many masters as he has vices." And sometimes, as Mr. Jones makes clear with copious documentation, our political leaders make use of our vices to bring us under their control.
(NOTE FROM TB: Please keep in mind that, like Chesterton, Dr. Jones is rabid against that something he calls "Calvinism." But not to worry: Chesterton and Jones are badly confused.)
