Rick Phillips writes an interesting and thoughtful post on Evangelical chaplains in the military based on his own experience in the military. Well worth reading.
The danger to a pastor of writing courageously on Biblical themes is clearly seen in the opposition Doug Wilson regularly faces from a handful of disaffected members of his congregation. (It should be added that the glory and joy of writing courageously on Biblical themes is also clearly seen in the fruitfulness of Wilson's ministry.) Doug writes today on popular misapplication of Jesus' Matthew 18 procedure for resolving offenses. I suspect these verses are more routinely misapplied in the church than accurately followed. Wilson's post states some of the obvious limitations on the application of this text.
